The third quarter inflation rate was 0.1 percent, and among the leading contributors was an 8.1 percent rise in the communication division. The upward movement of the communication index was primarily due to a 10.3 percent increase in the telephone and telefax services index.

There was also an 8.1 percent upward movement in communication, a 5.2 percent rise in education, 0.2 percent in clothing and footwear, 0.3 percent in health, 4.5 percent increase in food and non-alcoholic beverages, 2.1 percent in alcoholic beverages and tobacco, 0.3 percent in recreation and culture, household equipment, 2.2 percent and 0.7 percent in miscellaneous goods and services.
